Unable to rank and add issues to sprint on Next-gen projects

      Issue Summary

      Unable to rank/add issues to sprint on Next-gen projects if the issue type was added after the
      project's creation.

      Environment

      • Jira Software Cloud

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a Next-gen project
      2. Add a new issue type
      3. Create issues with Story type
      4. Create issues with the new issue type
      5. Create a sprint
      6. Add the Story issues to the sprint, and it will work
      7. Try adding the issues using the new type to the sprint
      8. Refresh the board page and issues added on step 7 won't be in the sprint

      Expected Results

      All issues are added to the sprint or ranked

      Actual Results

      Issues using the new issue type won't be ranked/added to sprints

      Go to the board's Features page and toggle the Sprint feature

            The rank and sprint ad hoc upgrade task has finished running on 100% of instances. The issue should be resolved for all customers now.

            Hi af3,

            When the Sprint feature is turned on, it performs several actions in the background that are necessary to fix the ranking problem you are experiencing. If you are not using the Sprint feature, feel free to turn it off again afterwards. This is a workaround to help unblock you while we work on a more permanent solution. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you.

            I'm not using Sprints so this can't be a workaround. In this request https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/23/JST-439172 I was assured that the problem is more general in nature and not related to sprints.

            Note that this is a regression, literally 2 weeks ago I was able to do this.
