It's a big miss that it's not present in Jira server product. Please add it.

Yep same as everyone else. We have setup a complex way of working which next gen does not cater for. The PO is using AHA.io to do roadmapping. would rather bring it all under the one roof with this feature under the classic project. 

Count me in on this request.  We need the classic feature set, but it means using a 2nd product for road-mapping.

This feature would be a major improvement for our (classic template) project! Please consider adding this, next gen is currently not an option for our workflow.

The Roadmap tool on 'Classic' Jira would save us from using other software tools to achieve this view, not to mention the duplication of work to maintain multiple systems. As has already been mentioned, we have taken the 'Next Gen' feature for a spin and found that it did not work for us.

Please add for classic. The next-gen features don't work for my companies needs and a good roadmap tool is missing. 

A Roadmap is a valuable tool that helps simplify planning for organisations dealing with multiple, competing  priorities.

As such, more complex Jira configuration tends to be required to process same. 'Next Gen' projects are usually not an option as next gen = dumbed down. 

Yet Atlassian decide to implement this feature on 'next gen' projects. I wish I could say I'm surprised.

Could I ask the stupid question: why not deploy this in the next release to Classic projects?
     

I'd love this to be brought into classic projects. Next-Gen ones simply aren't mature enough for our uses. If this function was rolled out into classic projects it would be a significant improvement to Jira.

Roadmap is critical and pre-existing projects should benefit.

Agree.  Please add.  We are using complex work flows that are not yet supported in Next Gen projects and would love to have this Roadmapping feature.

Please add!  We went down the track of using Next-Gen projects and they just didn't have the flexibility we needed that the Classic does.  So we had to convert them to Classic (which was very laborious as epics had missing data under Next Gen that Classic epics needed). Its a great visual tool.

I would like to add my support for this feature.

Classic projects represent the full feature set of Jira, with all the advantages and drawbacks of the additional configuration.

Next Gen projects represent a simplified, easier to administer, but less feature rich project type - a subset of the features available in Classic projects.

Adding features to only Next Gen projects is a bad omen for the future of Jira.

Anyone recommend a 3rd party plugin that does this? I understand it's effectively a Gantt chart, will start looking there, but would be nice to hear of a specific recommendation.

I'd love to use Roadmaps on Classic projects as well. We can't move to new-gen projects since you don't support links and app story points on existing issues would be reset...
