The plugin manager currently does not provide a confirmation box when selecting to update an installed plugin in the Manage Add Ons screen. It is very easy to accidentally press the button whilst reviewing plugins and plugins can quite often contain breaking changes as such this makes it quite easy to cause issues on a production instance of JIRA.
