Summary
Repository sync gets stuck on 'Sleeping' status due to Github API rate limit
Environment
Jira Cloud and Github
Steps to Reproduce
- Integrate Jira with a Github account that has a big repository (e.g. 20k commits)
- Try syncing this repository
Expected Results
Sync will be paused due to the 5000 request per hour limit on Github side. Once 1 hour is passed the sync should continue.
Actual Results
The sync fails due to the limit and so customer needs to contact support.
We set the sync status to 'Failed' and start it again.
Notes
Workaround
- Set the sync to failed (performed by Atlassian Support)
- Start a sync for a single repository
