Trying to connect to GitHub Repositories and always get "Error! The repository url [https://github.com/user/repo] is incorrect or the repository is not responding."

When I try and configure the DVCS plugin for Jira:

• I have setup the OAUTH application on GitHub against the organisation I am a member off(note: i have tried this against a personal repo as well and cant get it to work)
• I have copied the keys into the GitHub OAUTH page and hit Add/update
• I go to the DVCS Repositories page and put in the URL to the private repository
• When I hit link a repository i get this error:
  • "Error! The repository url https://github.com/calumo/CALUMO11 is incorrect or the repository is not responding."

I do not see anything in any of the logs that tells me what is going wrong.

I really want to get this functionality going for our Jira instance, but I am stumped on this.
