Text searching in Quick Searching box should also find numbers in a text custom field

      Problem Definition

      Currently when using text searching in the Quick Searching box, if the text custom field contains a number, jira doesn't list it in the results. Instead it searches for an Issue key with this number in the last browsed project.

      Example: The text custom field value contains 12345. Jira searches for IN-12345 (IN being the last project browsed).

      Suggested Solution

      The customer would want to have both, search for the issue key as well as for the text in the custom field

      Workaround

      Enter the number as a wildcard instead. Example: 12345*
