Vision Impaired User unable to use Jira Agile Boards with screen reading software

    • 2
    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

Jaws screen reading software does not change the keyboard navigation and as such user cannot access any of the menus in JIRA Agile. There are some hotkeys but not for all features

Specific to the scrum boards user have to navigate with the keyboard top to bottom left to right. This means that to be able to read the description of an item in the scrum board, the user have to first read the entire backlog start to finish. Then to go to the next item have to keyboard navigate back to where was and repeat the process. This means hundreds of keystrokes to accomplish the task of reading the description of one item.

Thank you for your help. As stated above the functionality of reading scrum boards is nearly impossible with the screen reader. In addition the drag and drop functionality with a screen reader is impossible. There should be a keyboard equivalent to be able to move items in and out of sprints as well as to priorities. Also the menus are difficult to navigate as I often end up in the search edit field. I cannot access any of the menus.

            Greatly appreciate the help.
