      (original request: https://jira.mindville.com/browse/ICS-1204)

      Description

As a User, I would like to populate an Object's Attribute with a Value from a Referenced Object:

for example: ${Product.Number} to get the value from the "Number" Attribute on the Object referenced in the "Product" Attribute on the Object which triggered the Automation rule

      Workaround

Run 2 Groovy script actions - retrieve the value from the referenced object, sleep/wait for a few seconds and set the value
Sample script for updating object attribute can be found here

This is blocking us too, I'm making dynamic portal forms driven off Insight fields, when the user selects a sub category, I want the approver field to be filled with a post function with members of a security group, in order to have the members of the security group filled against the sub category, I need insight to pull the members from the 'Approver Group' attribute, which points to my Security Groups object type that contains the members in a Members attribute.

This would be very helpful.  Has anyone found a working workaround?  The one listed isn't linked properly.

            Thanks,

            Eric

The link for the workaround is now redirecting to : https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicemanagementserver/managing-your-assets-with-insight-1044784300.html do you still have the script example ? I'm encountering a similar issue.
