      Description of problem

Documentation for Installing JIRA Service Desk only tells of running the full installer which will install JIRA Service Desk as a separate JIRA installation. This does not include any directions for customers who already have JIRA installed and wish to add JIRA Service Desk to their existing installation.

This causes confusion. Customers believe that they must run the installer to install JIRA Service Desk when they would rather have it added to their existing JIRA installation.

      Expectations:

Documentation includes directions that apply to both installation scenarios.

      1. Install JSD as new JIRA installation
      2. Install JSD as an additional application on an existing JIRA installation

      Workaround

Refer to Installing additional applications and version updates for directions on installing JIRA Service Desk into an existing JIRA instance.
