Issue Summary
The ECI indicator is prepended to Jira's URL when scanning a QR code created through a print label in Assets. This problem affects Datalogic scanners, but could potentially affect other scanners. It is unclear if the problem lies in the QR code implementation or in the scanner's heuristics.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a print label in Assets
- Scan the QR code with an affected device (for example, Datalogic)
Expected Results
Jira's base URL is formatted correctly.
Actual Results
The ECI indicator for the UTF-8 encoding (\000026) is prepended to the URL. For example:
https://example.jira.com becomes http://000026https://example.jira.com
Workaround
Scan the QR code with an unaffected device (other scanners, phones).
