Issue Summary
On specific instances where there are more than million object-ticket connections (links between Assets objects and Jira custom fields), there is a general performance regression when reindexing Assets objects.
This regression got introduced between JSM 4.20 and 5.12 versions.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Establish an Assets instance that has tends of thousands Jira issues linked to many Assets objects.
- Run a clean Assets reindex / or restart Jira instance which will trigger Assets reindex.
Expected Results
Reindexing takes normal amount of time that it took on JSM 4.20.x.
Actual Results
Reindexing takes much more time, depending on the instance size (e.g. 2 hours or even more).
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
