Issue Summary
In the help center portal, in the request type section, the decorative images have been provided with descriptive alt text.
Note: This issue is observed for the images present inside all tabs such as "Login & Accounts", "Computers", "Applications", "Servers & infrastructure", etc
Steps to Reproduce
- In the Jira left-hand sidebar for the opened project, select the "Raise a request" link.
- In the Available portal, navigate to the types of requests such as "Get IT help", "Request a new account" , etc.
- Keeping the screen reader on navigating through the Types of request content and observing the alt text being announced redundantly with the adjacent text content.
Actual Results
In the customer portal, the different types of requests having image icons that are decorative have been provided with descriptive alt text. Due to this, the screen reader announces the images which created an unpleasant experience for assistive technology users.
Expected Results
Provide an empty alt attribute to the decorative images i.e. alt="". Ensure the image icons do not receive screen reader focus.
