At the moment the only way to set a default for a field in a request type is to hide the field. But sometimes we need that default value to be modifiable by the end user.

Setting a default value for the custom field results in all issues getting a value for that custom field which is not always desirable.

Our suggestion is to add a column to the 'Edit request type' fields screen where a default value an be set.
