Grant external access to a specific page(s) without granting access to anything else

    • We collect Jira Service Desk feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Please implement page specific access instead of granting access to a Space and then applying restrictions to all other pages. If the Space already has multiple pages this is arduous and complicated.

[JSDSERVER-11299] Grant external access to a specific page(s) without granting access to anything else

This is in the wrong project, isn't it? It should be in CONFSERVER, possibly a duplicate of CONFSERVER-62230 but this has significantly more interest.

It is very much required. What is the point of guest access if they can see and edit everything by default? I need my guests to access specific pages only.

I'm wondering how many votes a request should have to be even considered.

External Share for Confluence seems to be an app you can get from Marketplace for both Cloud, Server and Data center, https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1220562?tab=pricing&hosting=cloud. It's not included in Confluence by default.

Thank you, Oscar, for the link to the Cloud version of this issue. I was dumb enough and didn't see this was for the Server version.

Thank you, Lisa, for the solution you mentioned: it is probably very useful. Unfortunately it does not seem to be available in the Cloud version.

I have found a working solution: open the page - click three dots in the top right corner - create external share - this will give access to only the page you have created the external share for. You can also add password and link expiry etc. Then you share this link externally.

There is already an similar ticket raised already in year 2006, that is still in the status "GATHERING INTEREST". That ticket has already 500+ votes and hasn't been implemented.

The ticket can be found here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-7089

            Reasonable point petre mierlutui,

            Use-Case: External contributer:
We have many boards and documents in confluence. If i want to add an external customer to just one or a handfull of pages i have to dissallow the external contributer manually from all other pages and boards manually.
If access restriction would be dissalowed by default, i just could allow the external contributer access to the few pages i want to.

That sums it up basicaly what we need and i think thats a very common usecase.

I mentioned already, we also need this feature, I have voted for the issue etc.

However, to my grumpy fellows above, let's make this constructive: it may help if we make our case rationally, explaining the various reasons we have to ask for the feature. Whether they will or will not take these into consideration is their business decision, and I'm sure any "pitchforks and axes" will not impress very much some Australians,  who need to deal venomous squirrels  and poisonous butterflies and kangaroos, all day long .

Please, if you could explain your use case then hopefully Atlassian will see the light. Thank you.

Lets go viral, twit and all on this one... Lets see if brute force works on them... It's absurd.
