      As per https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/JSDECO-181:

Refined has two apps on the Atlassian Marketplace, Refined for Jira Cloud and Refined for Confluence cloud, that are runs outside of the Atlassian cloud. They make use of the Atlassian rest APIs to display information frmo Confluence, Jira and JSD. To authenticate users we make use of the Atlassian login that supports to add a url to redirect to after login is done
      For JSD customers:
      xxxxx.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/user/login?absolute=true&destination=xxx
      For Atlassian users
      https://id.atlassian.com/login?continue=$xxxxxx.atlassian.net/login?dest-url=xxx&application=ondemand

When customers get's invited to a service desk or if someone signs up themselves we don't seem to have an option to redirect the user back to refined after sign up. We would need this functionality to make it possible to keep users on the Refined site after sign up.

[JSDCLOUD-9174] Feature request - Make it possible to redirect to specified url after sign up

This has been open for a while with no movement.  Will this make the cut at all?  It sure would be helpful to turn off the Atlassian portal link to make a better experience for our customers.

We're migrating JSM, Jira, and Confluence from server instances to the cloud, and we've historically used Refined for both Confluence and JSM.

If I understand correctly, is there no way to automatically redirect the Atlassian portals to Refined's?

This migration is full of surprises...

We´d really like to launch our JSM Portal with Refined asap... but after realizing, that the redirect towards the refined site after registration is not possible, we are actually thinking about cancelling the Refined subscription...

Guys.. almost 180 upvotes for this feature. Many many new requests. This issue downgrades your application..

+1 This is a vital feature. Refined provides amazing possibilities and configurations that are thrown away by this little thing. Shame that this was a topic started 4 years ago and is unresolved.

Atlassian hasn't introduced any significant feature or resolved any annoying critical bugs/inadequecie like this since over eight years.

Having that said, they have invested a lot in diversity programs and promoted equity and inclusion and climate stuff. And they suspended a lot of activities during Covid and sent most of their young programmers home so that these young healthy souls be safe. There was a 0.01% chance of hospitalization indeed and safety first!

So let us not complain about their product stagnating for about a decade, but let's be content and appreciative that they are the front-worriers of social justice and are spreading progressive policies and agenda all around the globe. There is only so much a company can do with its resources. And Atlassian has decided where to devote its time and energy. Be thankful! Have less features, and be happy.

As a customer of Refined for Jira Service Management Server and having recently moved to Refined for JSM Cloud, this is also an issue for us. The below scenarios always result in redirection to the Atlassian customer portal, which confuses users and leads to a poor user experience, which adds on time supporting customers unnecessarily:

            • Profile update
            • Password reset
            • Sign-up
            • Sign-in (if user incorrectly clicks the Atlassian portal logo/JSM project name, this changes the destination to the Atlassian portal)

Please address this Atlassian. This is a poor user experience for all Refined users and it seems like Refined are stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to solving this issue. If the JSM API is publicly available for the developer community to integrate with JSM specifically, there should be better authentication routing to allow for an improved user experience when interacting with third-party apps.

As a new user of Refined, I've just experienced this while setting up things. This is unelievable this seems not to have been adressed for 5 years. It's a basic functinnality. A lot of desillusion using Jira and apps so far.

The fact that this re-direct feature is not made available is ridiculous. We have to use work-arounds and a basic looking landing site to ask people to log in to the proper 'Refined' service desk site. An unnecessary extra step!

@Claus: you can go to support.atlassian.com and submit a request asking why there is no activity here. This happens quite a lot recently (in the last 5 years), that critical issues or bugs don't get implemented. Maybe the reminder function doesn't work or something.

            Cheers, pj

            Hi,

We are currently implementing a Helpdesk and we're having just the same issue - it's a shame.

As mentioned by @andreasZimmermann, it just ruins the whole thing - why have a Refined website if you can't directly redirect your clients there on login?

It creates a deplorable confusion in the client's mind ("so, what is the right helpdesk? why are there 2 of them?") and negatively affects the user experience...

So please, Atlassian, do something about this

We rated Jira as the best ticketing system. It will be the only external system accessible to our customers. With Refined we can professionally integrate this system into our corporate design.

The lack of a solution for the registration and login process as well as user profile editing destroys the important first impression of new users and undermines the overall professional impression.

Jira doesn’t provides custom domain change feature. Everybody here know how much this option is missing…

Apps like Refined provide the custom url option and that’s a benediction. However the fact that customers are redirected to the atlassian portal after a sign-in destruct everything!

Please add the redirection option after sign in!!!!

            Hello Nick

My name is Maria and I work at Refined. For the Anonymous users create tickets we are internally tracking this at Refined and looking into either if we can solve it or working with Atlassian on it.

If you want updates for this for when we have them, please let us know in support.refined.com or support@refined.com.

            Best regards, Maria Heij

Would be even better if we could allow anonymous users to submit tickets through refined. Making users create an account is a big barrier for us! https://docs.refined.com/display/RS/Anonymous+users+and+ticket+creation

adding a +1 for this feature. Refined would be greatly improved by having the ability to redirect after account signup. Hopefully Atlassian is able to make this happen for all Refined users out there.

I agree with both comments. The main reason to us for using a third-party provider like Refined was to mask the Atlassian Support site to have our own customised service desk portal. If we can't do this, therefore we are forced to build our own plugin where the user creation happens on our side and not on Atlassian side. As far as I know, the Jira REST API allows us to create users. So Refined just need to implement this endpoint and that's it.

We are using Refined to customize the layout of the customer portal.

It is confusing to see JSM Portal's homepage instead of Refined's after successful registration.

This would be very useful for us as the sign-up process can be a bit confusing for new portal users. The main concern is that branding etc is completely different between our Refined sites and Atlassian login process for new users. The new user is not directed back to the Refined portal once successful sign-on occurs and we needed to put together a new user guide just for this confusing login process.
