Today, Discovery Agents can transfer their local scan results file using File Copy or SFTP export, where they will be picked up by a Collector.

Since Discovery is now uploading to Cloud - it will be more efficient if a Discovery Agent can upload its local scan directly to a cloud instance and trigger the import.

[JSDSERVER-12616] Assets Discovery Agent - export directly to a Cloud instance

How has this not been implemented yet?

It is appalling to advertise this as a feature in Jira Cloud when you don't even support organisations that don't have a central server to collect all the information before it can be uploaded.

This should be made an absolute priority.

Yes, Im using the cloud version. The "via collector" part is frustrating as it requires a server to run Collector, unless I install the agent and Collector on every machine.

For a cloud-first environment where there is no server at the site, this tool currently doesnt entirely work until this crucial feature is implemented.

Is Jira a cloud product or not?

There are both cloud and on-premise versions of Jira.

It is very odd that this agent is not able to upload to cloud.

Right now it's possible to upload scan results to Jira Cloud via Collector. This feature request is about uploading results to Jira Cloud directly by Discovery Agent, thus bypassing the Collector.

It would be great if this worked like any other RMM or asset tool agent. Simply install and let it live and export as needed to update data.

That makes a lot of sense. It'd greatly simplify discovery of remote laptops - or any end devices used for WFH.

In a hybrid working environment I don't understand why this isn't already an option for asset management with Jira, we really need direct to cloud asset tracking so that we can track the devices no matter where they are, what network they are on. We need to have up to date information in our asset management system with Jira assets.

            Please endorse this feature request.

I work for a cloud or SaaS first company with little to no on premise infrastructure. This type of agent would be helpful so we can install this agent via script to endpoints during image process or shortly after with a deployment. This would help us to gather live data of devices and push to Assets in JSM.
Not sure in our current network infrastructure we are able to set up Assets as we don't use on premise window servers. We do have a VPN network but is only used for specific tools for specific teams.
