      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Add an integrity checker that verifies attachment entries referenced in the database actually exist on the file system.

      Example case:

      Screenshots attached through screenshot applet entered into DB but not saved to file system - exceptions thrown each time issue is viewed and attempt made to create a thumbnail.
