It seems to me that there are at least 2 different kinds of import/export that would be great to have. There is the import/export of JIRA enterprise level items. And then there is the import/export of project data.
In my case, I want to be able to do some prototyping on a new project in a development environment. When I get it to where I want it, I want to be able to just export that project from the dev region, and then import it into the production region. The new project of course needs new workflows and other customized items - I realize that this is difficult to do - but it seems like the only alternative I have is that once I am satisfied that the new project is correct, I would have to have the development and production regions up side by side and re-create all of the customizations in the prod region by hand.
I wouldn't want to do my prototyping in the production region for fear of messing up things there or people thinking that the new project was live when it really wasn't.
