Custom Field, Multi-Select List does not sort as expected

I have a Custom Field, Multi-Select List, that is populated with a 150-200 items. This list is incremented by 5-10 additions weekly. The interesting quirk is that when we add new entries and run the "Sort Current Options List Alphabetically", the first block of entries shown below are not sorted. Any ideas?
