In Jira Software Cloud, the sprint reports (e.g. Sprint Report / Sprint Retrospective) currently show who completed the sprint, but do not show who started it.
For example, on a typical sprint retrospective report such as:
https://example.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/ABC/boards/1/reports/sprint-retrospective?sprint=123
you can see who completed the sprint, but there is no equivalent “Started by” field.
Request:
Please add the name of the user who started the sprint to the sprint reports, in the same way Jira shows the user who completed the sprint. Ideally:
- Display a “Started by <user> on <date/time>” field near the sprint dates, and
- Keep it consistent across all sprint-related reports (Sprint Report, Sprint Retrospective, etc.).
Why this matters:
- Helps teams understand who initiated a sprint when reviewing history and running retros.
- Makes it easier to audit and correct mistakes (e.g., sprint started too early or on the wrong board).
- Keeps the UX consistent: we already see who completed the sprint; seeing who started it is a logical complement.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
