Review Subtasks' Fix Version does not update when the Story's Fix Version is changed

XMLWordPrintable

I have encountered an issue where, if I update the Fix Version of a Story, the Fix Version of its associated Subtasks does not automatically update to match the Story.

I would expect that the Subtasks' Fix Version should align with the Story's Fix Version by default. However, this behavior is not occurring.

It would be helpful if there were an option to configure this behavior per project, so we can decide whether Subtasks should inherit the Fix Version from their parent Story automatically.

      teps to Reproduce:

      1. Create a Story in JIRA.
      2. Add one or more Subtasks to the Story.
      3. Set a Fix Version for the Story.
      4. Change the Fix Version of the Story to a different value.
      5. Observe that the Subtasks' Fix Version remains unchanged.

      Expected Behavior:
When the Fix Version of a Story is updated, the Fix Version of its Subtasks should automatically update to match the Story's Fix Version.

      Actual Behavior:
The Subtasks' Fix Version does not update when the Story's Fix Version is changed.

      Suggested Solution:
Provide a configuration option at the project level to allow Subtasks to inherit the Fix Version of their parent Story automatically.

      Impact:
This behavior can lead to inconsistencies in Fix Versions between Stories and their Subtasks, which might cause confusion during release planning and tracking, leads to inconsistency in quality standards.
