Allow End Users to Choose Time Tracking Display Format (Pretty vs. Hours/Days)

Currently, Jira Data Center displays time tracking fields (e.g., Time SpentOriginal Estimate) in a fixed format, typically either in a "pretty" format (e.g., 1 week, 2 days) or in raw hours (e.g., 56h), depending on global settings or context.

We would like to propose a feature enhancement that allows individual users to choose their preferred time tracking display format. This could include options such as:

      • Pretty format (e.g., 1 week, 2 days)
      • Hours only (e.g., 56h)
      • Days/hours (e.g., 7d 0h)

      Why this matters:

      • Different users and teams interpret time differently based on their workflows.
      • Developers may prefer raw hours, while project managers may prefer a more human-readable format.
      • It improves accessibility and user experience by allowing personalization.

      Suggested Implementation:

      • Add a user preference setting under Profile > Preferences to select the desired time format.
      • Optionally allow overriding the global default set by the Jira administrator.

This feature would greatly enhance usability and flexibility for diverse teams using Jira Data Center.
