Issue Summary
When creating an issue, Jira will check the default priority defined for the last accessed project and set the field value accordingly. If users choose to create the issue in a different project using another priority scheme, it won't update the default priority value.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create two projects (e.g., Project A and Project B)
- Associate Project B with a different priority scheme than Project A, with a different default priority (e.g., Lowest)
- Access Project A, then click on "Create" to open the create issue screen
- Change the "Project" field to create an issue on Project B instead
Expected Results
The default priority from Project B is selected automatically.
Actual Results
The default priority from Project A is selected instead:

Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
