Issue Summary

The visible instruction or label for the "Feedback" icon button is missing.

Note:

The impact of this issue on users is minimal. Therefore, it does not meet the criteria for a "High" priority classification under WCAG Level-A compliance requirements.

As a result, we have assigned this bug a "Low" priority.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the Jira DC instance.
2. Navigate to the "Feedback" icon button in the "Site navigation" section.
3. Observe that while the icon is present, there is no accompanying instruction or label to help users understand its purpose.

Actual Results

When users navigate to the "Feedback" icon button, they observe that the visible instruction or label is missing. Although the overall impact is minimal, this can present usability challenges particularly for users who are not familiar with the icon's meaning.

This issue may especially affect users with cognitive impairments and elderly users, who may find it difficult to interpret the icon without additional context. As a result, it can lead to confusion and increased cognitive load regarding the button’s functionality.

Expected Results

Ensure that the purpose of the "Feedback" icon is clearly conveyed to users with cognitive impairments and elderly users.

Provide a visible tooltip for the "Feedback" icon button that appears on both keyboard focus and mouse hover. This will offer visual guidance to users who may not recognize the icon by itself, thereby improving usability and reducing cognitive load.

The tooltip should be implemented in a way that it is hidden from screen reader users, as an appropriate accessible label is already provided. This ensures that screen reader users are not exposed to redundant or duplicate information, maintaining a clear and accessible experience for all users.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
