Issue Summary
Support often needs thread dumps to be taken during incidents or issue reproduction, engineers need to provide instructions commands and scripts to customers.
Steps to Reproduce
Jira experiences problems, and/or an issue reproduction is underway. Jira admins needs to run commands on the terminal to collect thread dumps.
Expected Results
It would be great if there was a manual UI button to collect dumps that can be clicked from ATST on Administration > System > Troubleshooting and Support Tools. With number of dumps and delay.
- Dumps can be collected in a folder under <jira_home>/logs/thread_dump_<node-id>_<datetime> folder
- These dumps might be added to Support Zip as previously collected thread dumps.
Actual Results
Admins need to perform these steps manual on the nodes.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
