Issue Summary
The issue statistics is a good gadget to see distribution of tickets for different values of a custom field.
Since Jira 10.5.0 the values of select cascading custom fields are not shown, although the gadget properly computes the distribution.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install a vanilla instance of Jira Data Center.
- Create a sample Core project.
- Create a cascading custom field.
- Assign it to global context (all projects and issue types).
- Assign it to all screens from the sample Core project.
- Add a couple of options to the cascading custom field.
- Edit some issues from the Core sample project, selecting values to the cascading CF.
- Create a new dashboard and add a issue statistics gadget.
- Edit the gadget as follows.
- Project or Saved Filter: select the core sample project.
- Statistic Type: select the cascading CF.
- Show Resolved Issue Statistics: Yes – not mandatory, but to ensure all values are considered in case a resolved issue was changed.
- Save the gadget configuration.
Expected Results
The gadget properly computes the number of issues for each value.
The gadget shows the string value of each related option from the cascading CF.
Actual Results
The gadget properly computes the number of issues for each value.
The gadget does not show the string value of each related option from the cascading CF.
Inspecting the HTML, it really doesn't have the string values.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
