Summary
Currently, restoring an XML backup from a production instance to a QA instance in requires manually deleting and recreating email channels and OAuth app links. This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and becomes increasingly complex as the number of email channels grows.
We propose an enhancement to streamline the migration of email channel configurations and OAuth app links when restoring an XML backup, reducing the need for manual intervention.
Workaround (Current Process)
- Manually deleting and recreating email channels after restoring the XML backup.
- Using dark features to disable email processing during the import process.
- Editing the entities.xml file to remove email-related data before restoring (unsupported and risky).
