Problem
In Jira 10.3.1 / 10.4.0, users are experiencing an issue where the comment window fails to dismiss itself after adding a screenshot and using the Ctrl + Enter shortcut, visual mode. Instead, this action opens a new tab, deviating from previous versions where the window would close automatically. This requires users to click save to close the window/box manually.
Environment
Jira 10.3.1
Jira 10.4.0
Steps to Reproduce
- Click to add a new comment on an issue, using visual mode.
- Paste an image into the comment box.
- Use the Ctrl + Enter shortcut to submit the comment.
Expected Results
- The comment window/box remains open, and a new tab is opened.
- Users must manually close the comment box by clicking the save button.
Actual Results
- Upon using the Ctrl + Enter shortcut, the comment should be submitted, the comment window should automatically close, and no new tab should be opened.
Workaround
Manually close the comment box by clicking the save button.
Notes
Adding any text along with an Image, or clicking in the comment field again (which makes the focus to return to the field) eliminates the problem.
Using the Ctrl + Enter shortcut to submit the comment used to work in older versions (tested in 9.12.x)
