Problem Definition

Currently, if all subtasks of an issue are closed when viewing issues on a Software board, Jira shows the "Update Parent Issue" pop up screen asking if the user wants to also Close the parent issue, as show in the screenshot below:

Suggested Solution

Allow administrators to disable this functionality.

Why this is important

This will allow customers who don't use this feature to stop having to select "Cancel" whenever all the sub-tasks are closed, as they could have different workflows or business cases for which this option is not useful.
