User Problem
The customer needs user visibility filtering to be applied in the “Plan Access” settings of Advanced Roadmaps. Currently, users with the “Browse Users” permission can see all users in the system when managing Plan Access, bypassing project-level permissions like “Assignable User.” This creates a challenge for organizations with strict security, privacy, or compliance requirements, as they cannot restrict visibility to specific users or groups in this context.
Suggested Solutions
Apply Project-Level Permissions to Plan Access: Extend the behavior of project permissions, such as “Assignable User,” to filter user visibility in Plan Access settings. This would ensure consistency across Jira, aligning Plan Access with other areas like issue assignees and reporters.
Custom Filtering Options for Plan Access: Introduce a dedicated filtering mechanism for Plan Access that allows administrators to define which users or groups are visible, independent of global permissions.
Workaround
Currently, administrators can partially address this issue by leveraging the "Assignable User" permission to control visibility in other contexts, but this does not apply to Plan Access. No native workaround exists to restrict user visibility specifically for this feature.
