Change "JVM Version" and "JVM Vendor" to "JVM Specification Version" and "JVM Specification Vendor" in Jira's System Info page

      Problem

      In Jira's Administration (⚙) > System > System info page, we show JVM Version and JVM Vendor without making it clear that these fields refer to the JVM specification documents which the JRE or JDK used by Jira was written to be compatible with, and not the JRE/JDK itself.

      Suggested Solution

      Rename the JVM Version and JVM Vendor fields to JVM Specification Version and JVM Specification Vendor.

      Why This Is Important

      The current names have caused confusion for some users who are unaware of the difference between the JVM Version / JVM Vendor fields and the directly adjacent Java Version / Java Vendor fields.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
