As a Jira user I would like to have a better experience when adding an external link through the visual editor

      Problem Definition

      Not all operations on the visual editor are user friendly.
      As an example, there might be problems when adding external links, such as the ones detailed on JRASERVER-68524 and JRASERVER-67774 (not an extensive list).

      If we had a user experience similar to the Jira Cloud editor, then these wouldn't be a problem.

      Suggested Solution

      Implement a user experience similar to the editor on Jira Cloud.
