Issue Summary
The documentation page Encrypt passwords in server.xml describes a feature that was added in Jira 9.10, as described in Preparing for Jira 9.10 - Obfuscating the plain text password in server.xml for Tomcat DATA CENTER.
Despite this, the documentation page allows the selection of Jira versions prior to Jira 9.10, which do not include this feature and to which the documentation is not applicable.
Steps to Reproduce
- Visit the page Encrypt passwords in server.xml
- Select "8.20" from the version dropdown menu at the top right
Expected Results
The page should not display versions older than 9.10 and allow them to be selected.
Actual Results
The same documentation is shown when a version older than 9.10 is selected. This can and has misled users into believing that this feature is available in Jira versions older than 9.10.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
