    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

Today we don't have the ability to reorder the Issues in Epic when viewing a ticket.
It would be great if we can rank them like we do with the Sub-Tasks, or at least select a sort order (by created date, resolution, etc)

Note that this was previously reported and closed as "won't do", but as this was implemented in Jira cloud (see JRACLOUD-40929) it has a new significance.

[JRASERVER-77736] Ability to change the order of the Issues in Epic

Another vote to implement this on Jira Server, would make several project workflows much much better and easier to understand

Was surprised too that this isn't possible.

The order tickets are created in, to most people, suggests that is the order they should be executed in, which is more often than not, not the case.

This feature would greatly improve our work. Right now important issues that are created recently are displayed at the very bottom due to the ID-based sorting. A sorting order by ascending global rank should at least be the default. Also, the drag and drop feature to change the rank of issues within an epic (known from the backlog) would be helpful.

Was pretty surprised to find this is not default functionality

Our company would like this feature. Sometimes it's nice to place things in order of how they should be developed within the Epic. Yes, of course I can organize the backlog but it's nice to look at an Epic and understand visually see this ordering.

yes, my team really needs this feature.
we cannot sort the Issues in Epic between closed and open, it is very frustrating

is there a plug in at least?

+1 It's inconsistent with other views of the product and makes prioritization frustrating. I need to work around it by editing item titles and adding the order in some tags. It's a poor experience, really.
