Description
Issue Summary
As summarized on Using keyboard shortcuts:
Keyboard shortcuts are a great way for you to speed up editing, navigating, and for performing actions without having to take your fingers off the keyboard.
Starting on Jira 9.5.0, the shortcuts j and k stopped working as expected.
Prior to that version, these shortcuts would update the details view of the selected issue.
From Jira 9.5.0 onward, the details view is not automatically updated when navigating through issues on a Kanban board when using these keyboard shortcuts.
These still work on a backlog board.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install a vanilla instance of Jira Software Data Center version 9.4.latest.
- This was validated on version 9.4.18.
- Create a Scrum project with sample data.
- Go to the Backlog board of that project and click on any issue to open the issue details view.
- Hit j a couple of times and then k a couple of time and notice the issue details view updates when changing issues.
- Go to the Active Sprint board and click on any issue to open the issue details view.
- Hit j a couple of times and then k a couple of time and notice the issue details view updates when changing issues.
- Upgrade Jira to 9.5.0.
- Go to the Backlog board of the sample project and click on any issue to open the issue details view.
- Hit j a couple of times and then k a couple of time and notice the issue details view updates when changing issues.
- Go to the Active Sprint board and click on any issue to open the issue details view.
- Hit j a couple of times and then k a couple of times.
Expected Results
The issue details view updates when changing issues with the keyboard shortcuts.
Actual Results

The user needs to hit t twice to hide and then show the details view.
