    Description

As an admin, I would like to have a tool/method to set the default values and parameters for my Jira environment while creating and editing workflows.

      Example:

      1. When adding a new "in progress" status to the workflow or adding new transitions to this status, the default set of post functions is the minimal required by Jira:

      2. I want to be able to set on an admin panel more "default" parameters/values to always include extra entries, such as "Clear resolution" post-function:

That feature is important as it is easy to miss the resolution clearing post function, and forgetting to clear this field can break other features and other scripts or automation rules, or cause incorrect/unwanted JQL results.

In the above example, if this post operation is missing, reopening, or wrongly setting the resolution during the active part of the life-cycle of a ticket can cause unwanted behaviors.

Therefore being able to add a default post operation to always clear the resolution to transitions to an open/in-progress status without requiring the admin to manually set it every time the workflow is changed would allow the System admins to avoid this issue by setting it to be a default operation.

The above example was a specific use case, however, I'm sure there are other several potentially useful cases that would benefit from customizable default options!
