Description
Issue Summary
Under some conditions, the default security level is not respected on the quick create issue screen, when switching between projects and issue types.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create 2 Projects (let's call then SCRUM and KANBAN)
- Configure a different security scheme for each project, and make sure that a default security level is configured for each scheme:
- Configure screens for each project as described below:
- From any Jira page, click on the Create button from the top bar menu to open the "Quick create issue" screen, and follow the steps below:
- Select the project KANBAN, and any issue type. Notice that the security level is set as expected:
- Switch the project to SCRUM. The issue type "Story" should be automatically selected, since it is the default issue type. Note the absence of the "Security Level" field, since it was not included in the screen:
- Switch the issue type to "BUG", and check the "Security Level" field
- Select the project KANBAN, and any issue type. Notice that the security level is set as expected:
Actual Results
The "Security Level" is set to "None":
Expected Results
The "Security Level" should be set to the default level configured in the scheme:
Note about the bug
- the bug impacts any Jira version on Server/Data Center
- the bug only occurs when:
- switching first from a project that has a default security value to a project/issue type combo that does not have the "Security level" field in the screen configuration
- and then switching from this project/issue type combo, to a project/issue type combo that has the "Security level" field in the screen configuration
This issue does not occur when the right project/issue type combo is selected from the beginning on the Quick Create Issue screen.
Workaround
There is unfortunately no good workaround for this bug, other than making sure that all the screens associated to the same project include the "Security Level" field.
