      Problem Definition

There are times that manually working on files from the plugins/installed-plugins directory are necessary on a production instance.
For example, deleting jar/obr files from this folder may be necessary during troubleshooting of malfunctioning Apps.

When file replication is enabled as part of the Disaster Recovery setup, files related to Apps (plugins) are only replicated when changes are made from the UPM UI.
If an App file is added/removed directly in the file system, this change isn't replicated.

      Suggested Solution

As part of the native replication feature, have periodic check on the plugins/installed-plugins directory to replicate changes (adding/removing) that were made directly on the file system.

      Workaround

If manually adding/removing App files are expected, disable the feature to replicate Apps/Plugins files and rely on an external replication strategy.
      Examples:

      • Periodically run rsync to ensure manual and automatic changes are replicated.
      • Use inotify to monitor changes and trigger a synchronization through rsync.
