Description
Issue Summary
In Jira 8.20.x, if you visit the Browse Projects page Pagination is displayed as listed underneath the list of projects on the right side of the page, even with a very large number of Categories.
In Jira v9.4.6, when visiting the same page; the Pagination links are contained in <div id="pagination">. When an instance has a large number of Categories on the left side of the screen, it results in this div being pushed further and further down the page, eventually to where it is obscured from regular view if there are enough Categories present which then requires scrolling down to the footer in order to access the buttons that were previously accessible directly under the list of Projects.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Install a fresh v9.4.6 instance
- Create at least 26 projects either manually or using a tool like Data Generator for Jira
- Create a large number of project categories
- Assign a unique category to each project until the Categories list on the left side of the Browse Projects page continues past the bottom of the list of Projects
– A faster method for replication purposes would be to inspect the page using the category list using Chrome Inspector and to right click the panel-tab elements then use 'Duplicate Element' to rapidly populate the list
- When enough Categories are present, the grey bar signifying the start of the
pagination div id is then pushed further down the page as additional Categories are added.
Expected Results
- With a large number of categories, users expect Pagination to display under the list of projects
Actual Results
- The Pagination gets pushed to the bottom of the screen, obscured from view
Workaround
- The current workaround would be to scroll to the bottom of the page in order to see the 'Next', 'Previous', and individual page numbers
