In many cases it is helpful to compare total issue counts year over year (for example validating if software changes that were made reduced the number of incoming support tickets). However there is currently not an easy way to visualize this data using Jira Dashboard gadgets.

It would be helpful to have a new gadget that would allow for the ability to have the month on the x-axis and a series of lines or bars aggregated together showing issue counts for each month over the year. This would make it far easier to compare these counts within a single graph across a single time axes.
