Project Settings | Details : Additional content on the tooltip is not hoverable on mouse hover

Issue Summary

On the Project Settings | Details page, while we mouse hover on the “?" a tooltip appears. When we hover our mouse pointer over the tooltip content "Get local help about wiki markup help" it gets disappears.

Note:- A similar issue has been observed on the "Backlog" page of additional content on the tooltip is not hoverable on mouse hover. Please refer to screen recording 2.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Navigate to the “Settings” menu pop-up link and activate it.
2. Activate the "Projects" link.
3. Activate any projects present in the data table.
4. Navigate to the side navigation and activate the "Details" link.
5. Navigate to the “?” interactive element and hover over it using a mouse, and a tooltip appears.
6. Try to hover over the tooltip content with the mouse pointer and observe the tooltip disappears.

Actual Results

The interactive elements "?"(tooltip) present just beside the “Description” input field are used to convey crucial information. Moreover, the information is not persistent over a mouse hover on the tooltip content.

Along with this multiple issues with tooltips are observed on the product that includes the following WCAG issues:

•  Tooltips are not provided with appropriate roles and attributes as a result, screen reader users won't be able to understand the context of the tooltips.
• As a result, users with low vision found it difficult to access the additional content.

Expected Results

Make sure the content available in the tooltip is conveyed to all the users. Follow the checkpoints to mentioned below to ensure tooltips are accessible for all the users of the Jira Product.

1. The additional content should remain visible until the hover or focus trigger is removed, the user dismisses it, or its information is no longer valid.
2. This can be achieved by providing a mouseIn / mouseOut event on the HTML element of the tooltip container and maintaining the CSS with visibility from̨{{ display: none/block}} accordingly via javascript.
3. Ensure if the mouse pointer hovers on the tooltip content the tooltip dialog stays persistent. To ensure if the magnification users are using the product the mouse movement is not collapsing the tooltip.

Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available
