I find the status of "Assigned" and the Assignee as "Unassigned" very confusing.

I would like to suggest that you replace the "Assigned" status with a status of "Open" and have a separrate field for the Assignee. This would make more sense to me.

This change would also enable the ability to resolve a issue and assign it to somebody for closing.
