      Atlassian Update – 10 March 2023

      Dear Customers,

We identified the root cause of the problem and shared our findings with the app vendor.

As of today, we have confirmation from the vendor that our recommendations resolved the issue within the Elements Connect app.

We will go ahead and close this bug as “not a bug” on the Jira DC side. For further information on the timeline of the fix on the Elements Connect app please contact the vendor directly.

We want to use this opportunity to raise awareness of the several front-end API improvements we introduced in Jira 9.0. For more information, please check the following resources:

    Description

      Issue Summary

We have noticed an issue in the Issues Basic Search with a Connect custom field when they contain special characters.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Have Jira 9.2.1 (or more) installed and Connect 6.12.12 (or any version ≤ 6.12.8)
      1. Have a connect custom field with the following configuration:
        Category: Live
        Type: Text

      Datasource: SQL
      Query:
      SELECT 'A'
      UNION
      SELECT '(A)'
      UNION
      SELECT '!A!'

      1. Go to Issues > Search for Issues
In the basic search, click on More and select the connect custom field
        Select (A) or !A!

      Expected Results

      The value could be searched

      Actual Results

The value is searched (the search returns the correct result) but the field is locked, we can't select another value for the issue picker field.
The "All" field is greyed out and not editable when searching issues.

      Workaround

      No workaround.
