Problem Statement:

As a Project Manager that uses Jira, I need a simple, native, method setup and manage "Weighted, Shortest Job, First" (WSJF) Calculations.

Description:

WSJF Calculations are generally used to help determine a job sequence that maximizes output. This methodology is designed to prioritize the backlog based on what would provide the most value in the shortest time.

Although Jira helps manage an Agile Development Structure, it does not provide native tools to day to help manage WSJF Calculations

Idea:

Please consider adding tools to Jira so that Project Managers can setup, track, and manage WSJF calculations

Work Around:

• There are several third-party apps that can be downloaded and utilized for WSJF (Even more for Jira Cloud)
• You can setup values commonly tracked such as "Cost of Delay", and "Job Size/Duration" as fields, then use Automation for Jira to help manage those items accordingly. One example of this is outlined here in the Atlassian Community: WSJF Made Easy with Jira Premium. NOTE: this was written around Jira Cloud but the functionality is shared between Cloud and Data Center installations.
