My users keep requesting a feature where they can be added to the watch list for certain issues. Building a custom jsp page that adds them as a watcher to a set of issues isn't hard but requires too much maintenance.

As far as I know a reporting portlet would not be sufficient - basically this feature would work as a filter subscription, where they user could set a check box to 'auto watch' every issue the filter finds.
