Description
Problem Definition
The shared home directory NFS mount is mandatory for Clustered Jira DC instances and therefore requires customers to understand which versions are or are not supported by Atlassian. NFS v3, v4, and v4.1 enable different mount options and features and might work or not on Jira depending on each case.
Suggested Solution
Update the "Supported platforms" documentation, under "Environment and Infrastructure" topic and "Hardware" sub-topic which NFS versions are supported by Atlassian, i.e., which NFS versions are used during Jira tests that are working as expected by developers.
Update the NFS setup section of documents explaining how to install or configure Jira DC in the cluster to include the mount options used during tests. I suggest using the NFS mount options defined in our Cloud Formation templates (AWS Quick Start):
rw,nfsvers=4.1,lookupcache=pos,noatime,intr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,_netdev
