Description
Issue Summary
On "Issues" page, focus moves inappropriately when user activates "Share this issue" link which is available in main content area.
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to "Issues" link from left navigation menu and activate it.
- Navigate to "View all issues and filters" link present in main content area and activate it.
- Navigate to "Share this issue" link present in main content area and activate it.
- Try to navigate with Tab key and observe focus moves inappropriately to other interactive elements on page instead of "Link to issue" input field.
Expected Results
When user activates “Share this issue” link and navigate with TAB key, the focus should move to the first interactive element of pop-up i.e "Link to issue" input field.
The reading order in a screen-reader is based on the order of the HTML or XHTML elements in the Document Object Model, as it is the default tab order. This technique inserts new content into the DOM immediately following the element that was activated to trigger the script. The triggering element must be a link or a button, and the script must be called from its onclick event. These elements are natively focusable, and their onclick event is device independent. Focus remains on the activated element and the new content, inserted after it, becomes the next thing in both the tab order and screen-reader reading order.
Actual Results
When user activates “Share this issue” link and navigate using tab key, the focus moves inappropriately to next interactive element on page instead of "Link to issue" field. As a result it will be confusing experience for both keyboard only and screen reader users.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
