Details

    Description

      Issue Summary

In the Kanban board for a ticket, the image icons for the "Issue type" and "Priority" etc. are announced inappropriately to the screen reader users.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Launch the URL
      2. In the Kanban Board, while keeping the screen reader on, navigate to the main content where the issues are present in the "To do", "Progress" etc swimlane.
      3. Navigate on the type of issue icon and priority icons with read mode of a screen reader.

      Actual Results

In the Kanban board swimlane when the user navigates on the "Issue type" and "Priority" image icons with the screen reader in read mode, the screen reader announces the content inappropriately. The "Issue type" and "Priority" are announced 3 times which is confusing for the screen reader users and is not announced with the issue key to which it is associated. This will make the assistive technology user confuse and will not be able to use the feature effectively.

      Expected Results

The "Issue type" and "Priority" should be announced correctly to the screen reader users, while also it should announce to with issue key the "Issue type" and "Priority" is associated• This will provide a clear understanding of the feature to the screen reader user.
A few suggestions would help in making the element more accessible.

      • Provide the information in the image format and specify an empty ‘alt’ attribute for the image.
      • Provide an aira-label="Issue Type: Bug - SS5" to the image so that it would announce it correctly to the screen reader user.

      Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behaviour. A workaround will be added here when available
