Issue Summary
On the backlog page, the issue count menu popup is not accessible for screen reader users. The required ARIA attributes are not provided in the code.
Element:
1. All issues
2. 500 issues
3. 100 issues
Steps to Reproduce
- Navigate to the Jira dashboard page.
- Navigate to the "Projects" menu in the header section & select any project from the menu.
- Navigate to the "Backlog" page from the left navigation.
- Navigate to the "More options (...)" link in the main content present besides the "Create sprint" button.
- Activate the more options link & navigate inside the menu popup.
Actual Results
While navigating with the screen reader, when the user navigates to the links such as "100 Issues", "500 Issues" & "All issues", the screen reader announces them as "All issues, radio", "100 issues, radio" etc.
Since the <ul> element inside popup is missing role of "menu" & the link elements are missing role of "menuitemradio".
Expected Results
Apply the following fixes.
- Provide role="menu" to the <ul> element.
- Provide role="menuitemradio" to the anchor elements present inside the menu popup.
- Provide role="none" or role="presentation" to the <li> elements.
For more reference please refer to the following example of W3C on the radio button menu.
