Commenting on an Issue on Safari using the Word Jira prevents from continuing to write

      Issue Summary

Writing the Word "Jira" in the Comment of an issue prevents the user from hitting space to enter whitespace. This only happens in Safari.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open an issue
      2. Hit the "Add a comment" button
      3. Start typing the comment, until type Jira

      Expected Results

After typing Jira, hit the space and keep typing

      Actual Results

After typing Jira, when the space key gets hit, nothing happens.

      Workaround

      1. Type "Jir" and then keep writing, when it's finished add the "a" from Jira
      2. Type all the messages but the word "Jira", when it's finished, write "Jira" in the correct part.

Hello 3b2d7774405b and sorry for the late response. Yes, it will be backported to the 9.12.x LTS but not for the upcoming 9.12.6 version (we will try to backport it into 9.12.7 version).

Any chance this will be backported to the next 9.12.x LTS point release?

We do observe the same phenomenon with Safari 17 on Jira LTS 9.4.10 (Data Center) after we've been upgrading from LTS 8.20.11. Now, the "Description" field of an issue refuses the white space after typing "Jira"

I'm really glad that I found this. It's been bugging me for a while now. And just to know that it's not me that's crazy is great.

Fun thing, though. It's suggested it's probably Atlassian marketing that has decided that we are not allowed to mis-spell Jira in their product. To mee it seems patronizing. It's my text so Atlassian shouldn't decide what I'm allowed to write. Or at least I should be able to turn the spelling-checker off.

But that aside - it forces us to not use the name Jira anywhere because of this error. So my workaround is to write JRA.

Seems to also impact Confluence. Is there a separate ticket for this concern, which should be linked here?

I wonder if this is a byproduct of the code that changes all-uppercase "JIRA" to "Jira".
